THC-COOH doesn’t produce psycyhoactive effects, it’s simply the body’s response to consuming THC. However, while THC disappears from the body within hours, THC-COOH can stay in body fat for weeks. Some drug tests can differentiate between THC and THC-COOH. However, drug tests usually only use the THC-COOH detector, which can cause a large amount of false positives.

How Long does THC Stay in Your Body?

It’s hard to calculate exactly how long THC-COOH stays in the body, as it can be influenced by many different factors. It can depend on your height and weight, the amount of fat in your body and your own metabolism, as well as your cannabis consumption habits.

If you do sports, you drink lactates, you don’t have much body fat or your don’t consume cannabis habitually, your body will get rid of THC-COOH much faster. On the other hand, if you have a sedentary life and you don’t eat well, this metabolite can stay in your body for much longer.
