CBG Seeds

What are CBG seeds?

CBG cannabis seeds are those that produce cannabis plants capable of producing this non-psychoactive cannabinoid in high levels. So far, more than 110 types of cannabinoids have been discovered, and scientists refer to this one in particular as "the father of all cannabinoids" because it's a molecule destined to serve in the synthesis of all other compounds.

CBG is produced at a very specific moment in the plant's growth, and then it becomes reduced to a tiny percentage, so its presence in adult plants is almost imperceptible. However, it's a highly valued compound for its medicinal, antibacterial, antispasmodic, anxiolytic, analgesic, anticancer, and neuroprotective properties, among others.

How is CBG obtained?

Before the arrival of CBG-rich strains, extracting this compound required harvesting plants at an early stage of flowering when CBG had not yet synthesized, meaning it had not yet converted into other cannabinoids. This method, apart from having a low yield, sacrificed the extraction of other molecules like THC, CBD, etc.

While CBG is not new, it has always been difficult to study because its natural concentration is around 1%, and it's expensive to extract. However, new strains have been developed that produce high levels of CBG in harvests, simplifying the extraction of this cannabinoid greatly.

How does CBG affect the body?

Cannabigerol or CBG does not have psychoactive effects, making it very interesting for therapeutic applications. Like other cannabinoids, it interacts with various CB1 and CB2 receptors that make up the endocannabinoid system, a system responsible for capturing and synthesizing cannabinoids from the plant (phytocannabinoids) as well as those that are part of the body itself (endocannabinoids).

This network of receptors distributed throughout our body is closely related to the regulation of homeostasis, meaning the balance that the human body must maintain in its internal organic functions. Further research is still needed to determine exactly how this phytocannabinoid acts in our body; however, there are scientific studies supporting the benefits of cannabigerol.

Among other properties, CBG appears to help reduce intraocular pressure and has demonstrated strong antibacterial potency, even against resistant germs where other drugs have failed. Several studies suggest it could be used in the treatment of glaucoma and as a neuroprotective agent in Huntington's disease.

What is the difference between CBG and CBD?

CBD (cannabidiol), the trendy cannabinoid, has certain similarities and many differences compared to CBG. CBD is a more abundant molecule in cannabis flowers naturally, whereas CBG, as mentioned before, only occurs at a specific stage of plant growth.

There is also much more research on CBD, and it's known to have an appetite-regulating effect, whereas CBG enhances the appetite. Additionally, CBD has a more noticeable analgesic effect than Cannabigerol, while anti-inflammatory potential is also lower in CBG. Finally, CBD has a wider range of therapeutic benefits and applications, although this does not mean that CBG lacks multiple properties applicable to the therapeutic field, it's just that, as mentioned earlier, more research is needed to determine them.

How to choose your CBG seeds?

CBG seeds can be autoflowering, feminized, or regular. All ensure that the cannabis plants they develop contain a specific percentage of the molecule in their trichomes, with some having high concentrations of CBG with minimal THC presence. There are seeds with different CBG ratios, such as CBG Zerodue, which offers 9.18% of the coveted cannabinoid, or Royal CBG Automatic, which, in addition to being an autoflowering seed, provides 6-8% CBG. Even CBG-Force can produce up to 15% CBG compared to 0.15% THC.

These are some of the possibilities offered by these strains, thanks to the research and development of seed banks like Seedstockers, Kannabia, Royal Queen, Mr. Hide, or Dutch Passion. With these seeds, you can easily and quickly obtain harvests of CBG-rich buds.

CBG seeds are especially recommended for people who want to enjoy the taste of cannabis without worrying about the psychoactive effects of THC or for those seeking a strain for therapeutic or medicinal use.

Don't hesitate to discover CBG seeds! Ffinally available for all growers looking for the highest concentration of this cannabinoid. The future lies in creating strains to meet specific needs, in this case, cannabinoid composition according to necessity or preference. Any questions can be addressed to our team, who are experts in these and many other matters.
