Type and Genetics
The Gelato Sorbet seeds from DNA Genetics are the culmination of two legendary strains. On one hand, there's DNA Genetics' crown jewel, Sorbet, a descendant of Kush and Cookies strains. On the other hand, Gelato 33, a globally renowned strain that even has songs dedicated to it. The result is a 30% sativa – 70% indica hybrid with all the distinctive qualities of an exclusive strain from this seed bank.
The plant grows compact, with typical indica traits, good lateral branching, medium – low height, and a good yield of dense flowers in generous buds, with a phenotype featuring flowers with dark, blue, and purple tones being identifiable.
Growth
The Gelato Sorbet from DNA Genetics, is a medium – low height plant. DNA Genetics does not specify measurements for this strain, however, we can refer to its parent strains to estimate an indoor height of 100 – 130cm and 130 – 160cm for outdoor grows.
This is a very easy-to-grow strain and doesn't require much effort to achieve a good harvest. The plant's structure resembles a genetic helix, with the buds arranged in a spiral around the branch.
The flowers are dark and packed full of trichomes.
Aroma and Flavor
The fragrance emitted by the Gelato Sorbet is intense and sweet. The grow room fills with its essence just by brushing against a bud, creating a symphony of cotton candy, strong candy, and lollipop aromas.
The flavor is smooth, pleasant on the palate, with a hint of citrus on the exhale. The acidic flavors, inherited from Gelato 33, take center stage in this display of refreshing terpenes.
Effects
The effects of the Gelato Sorbet from DNA Genetics can be varied and, at times, contradictory. While the strain clears the mind and enables focus on tasks, certain phenotypes induce a complete relaxation.
However, one can enjoy it anytime, making it a wonderful strain for lounging with an interesting book or spending an afternoon at the county fair.
It pairs well with a lemon slushie, a cheesecake with jam or some blueberry muffins, while "Fruta Madura" by Pernett plays in the background.
Yield
The estimated yield for the Gelato Sorbet from DNA Genetics, could be qualified as average, albeit, of very high quality.
The flowers indoor, will develop to yield approximately 450 – 500 g/m2.
Outdoor, the plant grows unrestricted, though it’s also more exposed to changes in temperature and weather conditions.Regardless, and although the seed bank does not provide much information on this subject, an estimated yield of around 500 – 700g per plant can be expected.
Flowering in Indoor Grows
For artificial lighting, expect 8 – 9 weeks of flowering.
Flowering in Outdoor Grows
In outdoor grows, expect a minimum 10 -12 weeks to harvest.
Sativa/Indica Ratio
30% sativa – 70% indica
Cannabinoids
La Huerta's Opinion
The scent of the Gelato Sorbet from DNA Genetics is intense during the early stages of flowering and progressively increases over time. An odour filtration system can be recommended so as to avoid bothering neighbors.
Since it's a strain with such a unique terpene profile, perhaps the best way to consume it is with a vaporizer, which allows better access to the full range of flavors that this strain offers.
The Gelato Sorbet from DNA Genetics is a very easy grow plant that doesn't demand advanced growing techniques to yield a good harvest. Suitable for both novice and experienced growers.
