Type and genetics
Dutch Passion's Purple 1 feminized cannabis seeds come from the cross between a purple Afghan strain and Sativa and Indica strains to obtain a balanced hybrid perfect for outdoor growing in cold climates like the Dutch one.
Purple #1 is a hybrid that develops a sativa-like morphology and some showy purple tones that make it a real treat for the eyes. It grows very vigorously and is a genetics resistant to the inclemency of northern climates, as it was designed for outdoor cultivation in the Netherlands.
A strain that responds very well to training techniques such as LTS (low stress training) and HTS (high stress training), and that, although Dutch Passion breeders created it to be grown outdoors and in greenhouses, it also gives good results in indoor crops.
Aroma and taste
Many users describe the aroma and taste of this variety as "old school"; the terpene profile of this strain produces a classic Afghani aroma characterized by an earthy background that combines with sour, spicy and floral notes .
Since it is a very balanced hybrid, half indica and half sativa, the psychoactivity of Purple #1 is also halfway between the two worlds: on the one hand it offers a cerebral and stimulating effect that later gives way to a very pleasant body relaxation that does not become too narcotic.
Purple #1 is a medium yielding cannabis strain that flowers with big buds full of resin. Although it is not the most productive variety of the catalog of Dutch Passion, those who have cultivated it assure that the quality of its harvests both at the level of aroma and effect is worth it.
In indoor crops, this strain produces around 400 g perm2 and in outdoor crops up to 350 g per plant.
Flowering in indoor crops
Although this strain was originally thought to solve the climatic difficulties of outdoor crops, its short flowering period can be an advantage for those who want to maximize the number of annual cycles in indoor crops.
Its short flowering period of only 50-60 days is undoubtedly an attractive feature.
Flowering in outdoor crops
In outdoor crops, Purple #1 will be ready to harvest at the end of September in the Northern Hemisphere and at the end of March/beginning of April in the Southern Hemisphere. Grown in large pots or in direct soil, this genetics can reach a height of about 2,5m.
50% sativa / 50% indica
La Huerta's opinion
Purple#1 of Dutch Passion is a variety of marijuana ideal for those growers who are looking for a classic flavor accompanied by a moderate and very pleasant effect, and also want to grow early varieties outdoors with which to avoid that the autumn rains ruin their crops.
